Just as that saying goes, time flies when you are having fun!!!

I have been so busy lately (and having fun) with new opportunities popping up in my life, that I just realized I have not blogged in over a month….and I have a lot to say 🙂 I am in the process of writing something now that I will post later this week. In the meantime, here are a couple of thoughts.

Back in January, I blogged that this was going to be my year; my year of new opportunities, growth, building relationships, success, etc. I fully believe that our thought patterns (positive or negative) draw those same energies into our life and that becomes our reality.

Chalene Johnson puts it simply like this in her book PUSH, “Lasting success is powerfully tied to your beliefs. Your beliefs are also shaped by the conversations you are having all day long with others and, most powerfully, by the conversations you are having in your head – by the familiar sound of your inner voice.”

I have set goals for myself this year; some of which I have achieved already and others that I am still working on daily and will continue to do so.  I am passionate about what I am doing; being the best mom and wife that I can be, being a good friend and role model, and progressing in my career and education.  I wake up each day thankful for what I have and looking forward to the people who I am going to help that day – whether it be with an exercise program, nutritional counseling or something as simple as a text or phone call saying “I am thinking of you today.” Yes, I do still make phone calls 🙂

I look back to two years ago and where I was with my life.  Confused, frustrated, stressed about what I wanted/needed to do with my life; trying to do it all, but not sure where to start or which direction to go in. I was nowhere near the person  I wanted to be. It was not until I took a deep breath, concentrated more on myself and my family, created a balance and got my priorities in line, that I was able to figure it out – and it is still something I am working on.

All of us need to take time to focus on WHO we want to be.  We all spend so much time focusing on taking care of the people around us – kids, spouses, parents, grandparents – and there is nothing wrong with that!  As long as we also spend time focusing on ourselves!  Ultimately, becoming who you truly want to be WILL take care of the important people in your life. So…..

What kind of person are you? What are 5 adjectives that you would use to describe yourself?  What kind of role model are you for your kids and family? What kind of work ethic/determination do you have?  What do you want to do with this life that you have been given? What things are on your “bucket list?”

Something to think about…….
