- Listen to your body. You don’t have to go 110% all of the time. Even 5% is better than 0%.
- There are ALWAYS ways to move more and fit in some exercise! In fact, I teach a class on ways to move more throughout your day. The Mayo Clinic says that, sitting is the “new smoking!” With frightening research telling us that sitting is leading to increased risk of heart disease, diabetes, obesity, cancer and even early death.
- If you are heading to the gym and are intimidated, don’t worry. Nobody is really looking at you because they are too concerned about what they are doing themselves.
- Exercise and nutrition go hand in hand. The whole idea of “I exercise so that I can eat like crap” doesn’t work. It’s the entire package if you want great results. AND ladies, cardio is a necessary component of fitness and we all need to do it, BUT it will not change your body. Cardiovascular exercise works the heart muscle; lifting weights and body weight exercise will change your body shape and composition.
Get into a routine, find an accountability partner, mentally and physically prepare, make your goals specific, use POSITIVE images and thoughts of “I can and I will” to GET IT DONE.
